New home construction is ongoing in this southern city, with a brisk real estate market to match. 103 new construction homes sold in Shreveport in 2022. That number increased by almost 30 percent in 2023, with 133 new construction homes sold. The majority of new construction home sales in Shreveport were single family residences. Stick built, single homes in gated communities represented more than 97% of total new construction home sales. Townhomes, manufactured homes, and condos were less popular. More than 86 percent of new construction homes belong to an HOA.
