Our new real estate portal offers AI-powered search, insider insights, and negotiation tips to give home shoppers an edge
We’ve been working on something really big for the last year.
When Carey and I started Tomo, we set out to make buying a home a lot easier for people—more joy, less stress. We focused on mortgages because that’s where we saw a lot of things that needed fixing.
But, along the way, we kept hearing from people who needed help throughout their journey. Like, people who worried about missing out on the perfect home, simply because they couldn’t search online for what really mattered to them. Everywhere it was the same: # of beds and bathrooms, square feet, and price range. It was nothing like the conversations people had with an agent, or their friends or partner. And that’s when we knew we could do something different.
So, today we launched a first-of-its-kind home search engine.
We focused 100% on what a new home buyer might need, from when they’re finding a place to making an offer. Let’s say you’re looking for a new home in Seattle: You might start with the size or the price or a general area, but that still means you’ve got to sift through about 500+ places to find the few you really want. By leveraging the new functionality of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and some clever engineering by our team, we made it possible to search for things like a high-end kitchen or views of the water. You can even drop a little emoji if there’s something you’re really hoping for—for me, that’s a roof deck 🙂

But that’s just the start. We know that the information you bring to the negotiation table can make or break your chances of both winning a home and getting a great price. So we are launching Tomo Negotiation Insights, which gives people the data they need—like home seller names, seller’s mortgage details, and estimated home equity data so you have a better idea how much the seller will make after fees. And you’d want to know if you’re negotiating with a seasoned investor or a lawyer, right?

It finally puts buyers and sellers on an equal playing field, and that can be a game-changer for so many people. It’s the info that pros in the industry already use to make decisions about what to offer and how to negotiate. It only seemed fair that everyone should have access to the same info, as well as free professional advice and guidance on how to use it.
So, take a look at the new tomo.com. We’d love to hear what you think of it. And keep an eye out for what’s coming next. We’re just getting started over here.

How is this any different than any other home search engine? It’s pulling from a feed like all the others. What makes it stand out or do things differently for the better?

Hi Greg, it has been a while. I would love to find a way to use this in my 1300 agent brokerage. Call me!

“It’s been a blast” lol. I doubt Tomo mortgage has been anything but that.

Does it make homes more affordable? Does it lower the interest rate on the mortgage?
What you are saying is this helps those that can already buy overpriced homes. It does nothing to actually help supply, pricing, or rates.

I would love it if it was available as a personalized app for me as an agent to share with my clients and maybe even offer a website to go with it as an option

Let me know when it becomes available.
